This policy sets out the basis on which any personal information we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be used by Roxburgh Milkins Limited.

We’re a law firm so we’re pretty conservative about how we use your information. Some general principles we follow are:

If you are a customer, we mainly use your data to do our job - to verify your ID and to contact you in the context of delivering our services;
If you are a prospective customer, intermediary or other contact, we may send you information about the firm or contact you, for example, to arrange meetings or make introductions;

We don’t do much marketing and if we do, it will be carefully thought through and targeted; and

We will only collect and hold information that you provide to us (such as your name, address, email, telephone number, ID (e.g. passport) etc.).

Legal basis for processing your data

We may process your data because:

we are legally obliged to e.g. to confirm your identity;
the processing is necessary for the performance of the contract with you to provide our services; or
it is in our legitimate business interests to do so.

In some instances, we will rely on your consent to process personal data and where we do this, it will be flagged to you at the time.

Where we store your personal data

Your data is mainly stored and processed on secure servers in the European Economic Area ("EEA"). We will occasionally process your data outside of the EEA (for example when using certain third party services) but will only do so if appropriate safeguards are place in accordance with Data Protection Legislation.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. lodge a complaint with the UK supervisory body, the Information Commissioner’s Office (the ICO) here. If you have a concern or complaint about the way we handle your data, we ask that you contact us in the first instance to allow us to investigate and resolve the matter as appropriate.
